Did any of my Aussie readers, most specifically Melbourneites see the news last night?
How about that party in Narre Warren?! Can’t say I would be too happy about 500 teenagers rocking on at the house next door to me. Actually the house next door to me is a two bedroom unit and they would hard pressed to fit 50 people through the door but you get my point.
But how about the attitude on the little turd when he was interviewed on TV, it is the day after and the neighbours still have to contend with his bony arsed little mates streaking down the street, Euowwwwww. What an attitude, what a revolting, smarmy, grotty, selfish, irresponsible little fucker he was. If he was my child I’d march him around to apologise to the neighbours then I would drown him in a sack. Then again, who knows, his parents raised him maybe they don’t care.
I may be starting to sound like a ranting old fart that has forgotten what it is like to be young or to have fun but I assure you I haven’t. I just have zero tolerance for anyone who can not show even a basic level of respect for other people or take responsibility for their own actions, I also know what it is like to live near a party that is being gate crashed, even in sleepy little Blackburn South. A few years ago now we went through a phase where a house over the road from me would have regular parties because the parents were often away.
One fateful night I could tell another party was kicking off, I braced myself, considered inviting one parent I saw dropping off a couple of girls to come back around midnight and see what their darling daughters were up to, thought better of it and settled in for another loud night. Around midnight there was suddenly a lot of yelling and a guy ran out of the house bellowing and started kicking the garage door, there was also quite a bit of screaming. Uh oh, this is a bit wrong; I am calling the cops this time. By the time I got on to them they said others had already called and they were on their way.
They weren’t kidding 4 divvy fans, 2 fire trucks and 2 ambulances came screaming up about 2 minutes later. Kids had been scattering for a while but were being rounded up and bought back to the party by the police. Confused neighbours were gathering on the footpath trying to figure out what was going on, Police started going through our front yards with torches. Within about half an hour parents started arriving and yelling at their kids to “get in the bloody car, NOW”. It turns out that the party was gate crashed and the guy hosting it had been stabbed in the stomach 4 times. He is OK, he survived, but it was a pretty nasty way to learn a lesson.
It gets better the next day a bloody Channel 9 reporter, camera man in tow knocked on my door looking for “comment”, purlease, like I wanted to be one of “those” neighbours on the news telling the world how shocked and appalled I was. They even offered to film me though the flyscreen door so no one would see my face, how embarrassment, I was still in my jim jams for pity sake! The funny part was watching the reporters from Channel 7, 9 and 10 circling each other in a quiet suburban street on a Sunday morning, ready to pounce on anyone who left the house. When someone from the party house finally came out the front to clear up some empty bottles 3 anorexic fake tanned reporters nearly snapped their stiletto’s trying to be the first on scene, must have been a very slow news day.
Running
It is a rest day today. My car was booked in for its insurance assessment from the bingle I had last year (not my fault!) so I was consigned to PT. I decided to walk a few stations further on than my local, A) to save money by buying a Zone 1 ticket and B) as an excuse for more walking, it was only 4.6Km but every bit counts doesn’t it.
I have figured out the distance from home to some of the other stations along my way to work, I may catch more PT over the next couple of months so I can get some more walking in. Maybe I can stick to driving in just on Tuesday and Wednesday when I finish late, maybe, we will see how long it takes for CONnex to break me again, I give it 2 weeks. I am also considering bringing a stash of clothes to work and doing the run/walk thing to work a couple of times a week. From my front door to my office is about 18km.
I got my blood test results back this morning, those labs work super quick, I only had the sample taken Saturday morning. My iron is borderline again, I was on tablets for 6 weeks and stopped them 2 weeks ago. It is amazing that my levels drop so quickly and I can say that I have noticed, so back on to the tablets again tonight.

You should try iron injections, they work much much better than the tablets.

My kids are NEVER going to have parties. Also, they won’t have access to the internet. It might be easier if I just lock them in their rooms now and be done with it.
Oh, I just read apparently they want to charge the kid 20,000 for having to call out all those cops. That’ll show him.

what do you say to the cops to get them out so quickly?
Are you going to do a Connex vs Em scoreboard? I reckon driving in peak hour traffic would break me way before the trains do.

It is a sad comment on the society we live in, no doubt about that. We have problematic neighbours too, but they are thankfully not in this guys league. I think there is one main word to describe him though and that is STUPID. Hope they do charge him the $20,000.
