Water Running and Real Running
Tempo session first thing this morning, didn’t bother with a warm up and cool down, just 60 minutes at a steady pace.
For my own amusement I counted the laps and by the end of the 60 minutes I had covered about 7.5Kms 750 meters. I had a massage straight after the pool session, still amazed at the number of tight spots cropping up with very little real running under my belt.
This afternoon I had a run/walk session, I am now up to 16 minutes running, that is walk 1 minute and run 4 minutes for 20 minutes. I covered about 2.8Kms while running and have so far clocked up about 4.7Kms worth of running this month
So far so good, my legs are still behaving.
Between the pool, the massage and the real run I also popped into the Podiatrist to pick up my new orthotics. I had a bit of a walk in them at the clinic and they feel very very strange, which is about what I expected. Now I have to break them in for about a week to 2 weeks just walking about, then I am allowed to start running in them.
