Running
None today, and as the title suggests, with barely contained restraint! Though because I was up so damn early and I was restless as hell I did walk to Box Hill Station this morning, which took me about 45 minutes.
Last week I only ran 3 days a week, this week I want 5. I felt fine this morning but chose to take today as I rest day. The plan for the rest of the week is –
Fri – 10Km hilly loop
Sat – 5Km “short and sharp”, probably a Fartlek session
Sun – Long run, play it by ear but hopefully 15Km won’t be a problem
This should give me about 46Km which will be a good base to build from. Next week I’ll aim for mid 50’s and then return to interval work Tuesday the 16th, this is the next challenge, trying to regain the speed I was just starting to get before the injury hit me.
Speaking of which, Ewen, the Pod has banned me from the likes of rubber thongs and other flat shoes with no support. They force the arch of my foot to work too hard to absorb the shock. The arch is supposed to act as a shock absorber, but when they are high like mine they work even harder. Therefore if I get about in thongs or ballet slippers all day and then go for a run I risk the injury coming back and it is likely that is how I got injured in the first place. I never wore those thongs anyway, I have my lovely ultra comfortable Birkenstock thongs instead.
Still eating well, but still craving sweets, I have eaten alot of grapes.
Lemming
There are some major road works going on at the train station just before mine, in fact they are putting the rail line under ground! Now despite some inconvenience as obviously the trains won’t be going through for 7 weeks this is a damn fine thing because during peak hour Middleborough Road can be a nightmare to travel along.
Anyway, as a result I have had to find a new way home. Not wanting to brave the inevitable grumpiness and no doubt sardine like aspect of the shuttle bus to Blackburn I have instead found a bus that goes by the bottom of my street. This has meant that I have to make my way to the bus terminal at the station, which I haven’t had to do before. As I discovered yesterday afternoon, the escalator is not for the faint hearted, for a disturbing second or two it looks like you are going to plunge lemming like into the abyss 
Thought for the Day
Why do women wear lacy bra’s under tight T-Shirts when T-Shirt bra’s are in plentiful supply? It is just wrong, do they not look in the mirror before leaving the house?
Same goes for orange fake tan, we are not Ompah Loompas!
